Acro
Acrobatic Arts Syllabus
Contortion
Cirque
Cirque is supplemental class that adds work on circus equipment (silks, lyra, balance canes, etc). AA level 5+ exam required.
Advanced Tumbling
Advanced acrobatic tumbling for students working on skills like walkovers, back-handsprings and aerials.
Basics
Jazz
Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Jazz classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination, followed by progressions across the floor, and culminates in extended dance combinations.
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and will maximize technique. It provides the grace and poise needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Tap
Tap is characterized by creating syncopated and rhythmic sounds. The core of the class will focus on the development of basic technical skills, as well as the ability to understand music and rhythm.
Lyrical and Contemporary
Lyrical is a combination of ballet and jazz that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret the music and express emotion.
Combo Classes
Tiny Stars
This class for 3-6 year olds is a "sampler" of ballet, tap and acro. It is designed to introduce younger students to multiple styles without overwhelming them.
Ballet/Tap
Jazz/Acro
This class is an introductory course to both jazz and acro for children 8 and under, done in 30 minute segments each.
Specialty
Musical Theater
Performance skills and combinations set to songs from Broadway. This class has an intense focus on musicality and can help children with dance auditions for local shows.
Latin Fusion
A class that combines many different styles of Latin dance with traditional jazz technique.
Hip Hop
Fun, funky moves to current trends in urban music.
